Major Partner
The Methanex Neonatal Unit
Supporting our smallest patients
Methanex New Zealand has partnered with Taranaki Health Foundation to be the Major Partner for Neonatal. Methanex New Zealand is a key contributor to the Taranaki economy and community. Their long-term support will help create the Methanex Neonatal Unit, a state-of-the-art neonatal department.
Methanex New Zealand has a long-standing relationship with Taranaki Health Foundation, something Managing Director Stuart McCall is incredibly proud of. Methanex was previously a key contributor to the Angio Suite built in 2016 and is excited to be able to enter into another long-term partnership.
The neonatal unit is an area of the hospital that much of the Taranaki community has had personal experience with, including members of our own Methanex whānau.
Stuart McCall
It is vital neonatal care in Taranaki is as up-to-date as possible. That is exactly what Methanex's partnership will enable us to do. We need facilities within our region that are built to accommodate the growing needs of an increasing population. The New East Wing Building development at Taranaki Base Hospital is an integral part of ensuring the best healthcare for the people of Taranaki.
The Methanex Neonatal Unit will boast state-of-the-art treatment equipment and transportation incubators, and enable it to better cater to multiple births, be more comfortable for the mother and family, and be larger than the current department.
